Biennale ZeitRäume Basel

ZeitRäume Basel, Biennale für neue Musik und Architektur (Biennale for New Music and Architecture) plays between music and architecture re)  from 9 to 19 September 2021. The festival, entitled Verwandlung, (Transformation), presents more than 20 productions and performances at around 30 locations in and around Basel.

Moments and places of transformation are offered in rich diversity. Urban development and rapid societal changes are central themes in Basel and the festival programme. Buildings and quarters change mood and purpose. Many former spaces of industry, religion, art and recreation have different destinations nowadays.

 How do architecture and music influence each other, and where, how, whom, and what do they transform? The surprising answers of the artists to these questions provide many new insights into the means of music and its permanent connection with architecture.
