Museum of Art Bern

The Museum (Kunstmuseum) presents paintings, sculptures, hand drawings, printed graphics, photographs, videos and other contemporary works, covering 800 years of art history.

The works span the period from Duccio and Fra Angelico in the (late) Middle Ages to modern Swiss paintings by Niklaus Manuel, Albert Anker and Ferdinand Hodler and other modern classics and the latest exponents of contemporary art.

Impressionism, expressionism, cubism, surrealism, all art movements from the twentieth century are presented, among others by the works of Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Paul Klee, Wassily Kandinsky, Salvador Dalí, Meret Oppenheim, Franz Gertsch and Markus Raetzand and many others.
