Kyburg Castle

The first mention of the castle was in 1027. The owners, the Kyburg dynasty, became one of the most important noble lineages in the region covered by the central Swiss plateau, alongside the Habsburgers and the Savoyards. In 1865, the castle opened to the general public as a museum and art gallery. The permanent exhibition gives insight into the history of the castle and the people who ruled from here.
