The Yellow House in Flims is White

The architect Rudolf Olgiati (1910-1995) is the pioneer of modern architecture in Grisons.

He was mainly interested in the architecture of the Engadine, ancient Greece and the designs of Le Corbusier (1887-1967).

He donated the Gelbe Haus, (Yellow House) to Flims on the condition that the building should be plastered white and used for cultural purposes.

The Gelbe Haus has for his reason the same colour as the houses on the island of Santorini (Greece).
