Museums and art galleries

The museum (Schlossmuseum)  shows a rich collection on the history of the Beromünster Abbey and the oldest printing house in Switzerland.  

The Salt Mines are a vast underground labyrinth, several kilometres of which are open to visitors. The visitors will see the most spectacular and the most characteristic elements of the various excavation techniques used from when the first gallery was dug out in 1684, right up to modern times.

The collection contains works by Swiss artists from the 20th century. The themes are still lifes, portraits, landscapes and figures.

The museum (Schreibmachinen Museum) presents typewriters from the office-, company- and office world.
