The regional museum (Il Museo della civiltà contadina) in Stabio is part of the network of ethnographic museums in Canton Tessin. Its aim is to show the history, culture and everyday life in Mendrisiotto and Basso Ceresio.

The Museum has three departments in three buildings, each with a different focus. The art history and the art from the canton are the main focus of the Winkelriedhaus and its pavilion. Contemporary art by artists from the region and history is exhibited in the Salzmagazin and Fortress Fürigen.
