Museum Briner und Kern

The collection begins chronologically with Renaissance works by Lucas Cranach the Elder and an unknown master of the Holy Blood active around 1520 in Bruges. At the forefront is Dutch and Flemish Baroque painting. The Dutch “Golden Age” is represented with all its principle genres. historical paintings by Pieter Lastman, portraits by Ferdinand Bol, landscapes by Jacob van Ruisdael, Jan van Goyen, Jan Both and Allart van Evertdingen, marine paintings by Willem van de Velde the Younger and Lucas Bakhuyzen, architectural representations by Emanuel de Witte and Hendrick van Vliet, genre scenes by Adriaen van Ostade and Pieter de Hooch, as well as still lifes by Pieter Claesz and Abraham van Beyeren. Miniature portraits complete the collection.
