The Theatre of the Architecture  (Teatro dell’architettura) is located on the university campus of the Academy of Architecture (L’Accademia di architecttura). in Mendrisio.. The Theatre is an initiative of  the University of the canton Ticino and the Foundation of the Theatre of the Architecture (l’Università della Svizzera italiana  and la Fondazione Teatro dell’architettura). Alongside the educational activities and research by the university, the Theatre is intended to boost training opportunities by exhibitions and seminars, and to give visibility to (new) trans-disciplinary interests that are having an increasingly important influence on the design process and are redefining the social role of architecture.
